you just tie it loosley. Not in a tight knot. A very loose one.

I believe it is not wrapped around the neck like Superman, hehe.
It is tied around the shoulder and rests on the shoulder.
Not like a sash that hugs you, but somewhere that comfortably rests on/above your shoulders.
You may actually do this in many ways. If you tie the sweater loosely instead of knotting, chances are it's going to slip as your body moves.
In what I remember, how you keep it from slipping is instead of tying the knot, you fold the sleeves like you would fold socks. You CUFF the sleeves together.
Don't force it. Don't get frustrated. Just have fun experimenting how to do it (you'll figure it out!) and maybe you'll find your own whacky way of tying a sweater 'round your neck too!
